What is the CentraSite Starter Kit and how can I install it?

The Starter Kit contains sample organizations, users, groups, assets and permissions, that can help you understand the basic concepts of using CentraSite quickly. This kit is in the form of a CentraSite database backup which can restored on your CentraSite installation using an install script provided along with the kit.

Our company is focused on .NET as a technology platform. Can we use CentraSite?

Yes. CentraSite is platform- and technology-agnostic. That means you can import and manage services described by a WSDL, no matter the implementation technology. You also can look up services managed in CentraSite using MicroSoft VisualStudio’s UDDI capabilities.

We have standardized on a different platform vendor for our SOA and BPM infrastructure. Is CentraSite only usable with Software AG’s SOA and BPM platform?

No. CentraSite is an open, vendor-neutral lifecycle management and governance solution. You can use CentraSite to manage assets from any application and middleware platform. CentraSite offers robust support for industry standards, such as JAXR, UDDI, WS* and WS-I. CentraSite also offers a variety of ways to integrate with your environment, including a Web-based interface, IDE plug-ins and APIs.

Is CentraSite integrated with the rest of the webMethods suite?

CentraSite is the Business Services Repository for webMethods 8 suite. It offers built-in support for webMethods suite assets and native integration with the webMethods Designer Integrated Development Environment (IDE). You’ll find it’s easy to publish process and services assets into CentraSite. Using the repository, you also can search for existing services and processes for re-use to reduce development time. webMethods Designer works with CentraSite to show a complete view of business processes and their dependencies to SOA artifacts, such as services.

What third-party tools interoperate and integrate with CentraSite?
